What to stitch?

I am going to stitch tonight. I will be working on one of the above projects. I cannot wait to settle down with my stitching and some TV with the hubby. Hope everyone is having a great night.
Wow...two posts in one day!
Happy Stitching!

Fall Leaves

Jason and I went for our annual ride yesterday to look at all the pretty leaves. Unfortunately most of the leaves are gone from the mountains so I did not get any pictures of the mountains in full leaf mode but I did get some nice pictures that I want to share.

My plans for today are to make some vegtable soup, edit some more pictures, and then tonight I want to join in on the Stitch Along at Let's Stitch and I am hoping to get some pictures of some of my stitching today. It looks nice out so hopefully I can gather up a few things and head on outside soon.
Happy Friday!!

First Day of School

Hunter started 5th grade this week. He says he likes school so far, but he does not like having to get up so early. He is very tired by the time he gets home from school and football practice. I'm hoping he has an easy year this year. Good luck Fred!

Back to school

It's back to school day here for Hunter. He was not so happy to get up at 5:45 to get the bus but I was happy...lol! I did manage to get some pictures of him this morning. He seems to think that just because he is going to 5th grade I can not take pictures the first day of school but I did manage to get a few. I will be sharing them with you a little later once I get them off my camera...hopefully that will be later today. For now you can have a look at my new desktop background.

Have a happy day!!

EVERNOTE

EVERNOTE <---CLICK HERE TO FIND OUT MORE.
I have been using this for a while now and I often wonder how I lived without it! Now my email inbox does not stay full, I simply email anything important to my evernote account and delete the rest. Then I go to evernote and find the notes and tag and move them to the correct notebook. It is soooo easy to find things that you put in evernote by using tags and searching.

I use 7 notebooks to keep me organized. Everything goes into my inbox and from there I tag and move the notes to other notebooks. My other note books are To Do, Shannon Thomas Photography, Personal/Family, Cross Stitch, Refrence and Share. The To Do notebook should be self explanitory. In this notebook I use the checkboxes in my notes. I have a note for every month and I just add to it when things come up. The Shannon Thomas Photography is used for my photography business. I keep all emails and any other information in here until they are no longer needed and then they get moved to the Refrence notebook. The Personal/Family notebook holds medical info, household info, shoping lists, gift ideas, etc in there. Cross stitch is a big hobbie of mine so I had to have just one notebook for all my cross stitch stuff. There are free charts, thread lists, shopping lists, etc in there. You can put pdf files in evernote also. The refrence notebook holds everything else or the notes that are no longer needed in the other notebooks. The Share notebook holds any notes that I want to share with others on my Evernote page on the web. The best part is that you can use it on your desktop, on your phone, and on the web. You can get it from EVERYWHERE!!

Lots of people use evernote and in many different ways for many different reasons. Here are two links that talk about how people use evernote.

There is so much that you can do, you just have to give it a try!

If you already use or you give it a try let me know how it works for you!

A Sign

Another photo from the Scott Kelby World Wide Photo Walk on July 18, 2009.
I did do another photo shoot that turned out pretty good. The mother loved the pictures and I am just waiting for her order.
On the stitching front I have been stitching a lot this week on my Halloween Fairy. She is coming along nicely. I will try and remember to snap a pic the next time I am stitching on her and post it to my blog.
It is so hard to believe that July is over and August is here already.

Long time no post!

There has been no scrapping or much stitching going on here. It has been a relaxing, boring summer here. I have, however, been taking pictures a lot lately. I have built a small group of clients and have been making some new friends through this photography adventure that I am on. I am hoping to share some more pics with you soon. On July 18th I went on the Scott Kelby Worlwide Photo Walk. I hosted it here in Bloomsburg and it was a lot of fun exploring the streets to see what interesting things we could find to photography. For now I will leave you with this gem but will hopefully be back real soon to share some more.

How do you get your pictures to look like that??

This is the question I have been asked so much lately. My answer....PRACTICE! I believe that most people believe that I just pick up my camera and push a button, but really there is more to it than that.

I have an "eye" for what looks right in my mind and how I want my image to turn out. Every time I pick up my camera I am on a mission to capture something...Where ever my inspiration for that moment takes me. Are all of my images technically correct in everyone's eyes? NO. I create what I see. Not what the photographer across town or states away sees.Every image is different and the processing of that image is different. It's not my "camera" that takes the pictures and turns them into art... its ME and my vision.

Ok...vent over.

Now some pics for you??
